There was an excellent synergy between these two great performers with complete different style and repertoire who had nothing but love and respect to one another. Gaon, who is known for his sense of humor and easy going mannerism, had constantly showered compliments, affection and admiration to George. At one point, Gaon entered the stage after Dalaras finished his solo part, took the microphone and said: "ladies and gentlemen, I just came from backstage where I heard him singing, and you have no idea how powerful this man sounds! his incredible voice shook me up in a way that I cannot describe to you. I have never shared a stage before, but this artist, Dalaras, is a rare and unique exception. I truly love him" At one point, Gaon finishes his solo part and calls George to the stage. After a few calls in the microphone, George does not come. Gaon then goes to Manos Grysmpolakis (the accordeonist) and asks him "How do you say Giorgo, where are you" ... and then repeats "Giorgo pou eisai". Dalaras finally arrives and says in English, "I am here" to which Gaon said: "no, no, no, Now you have to say it in Hebrew: Ani Kan" and of course for George it was a piece of cake to repeat it correctly
