  1. Please, could anybody finally do a kind of "translation" of these text from Byzantine to modern Greek, so, that more of them could be understood and identified? Of course is Number 5 the "Magnificat" and Number 6 the Psalm 90 (I am not very sure, if the whole, thought). The introduction, wonderfully spoken by Dimitris Kataleifos (whom I saw only once, in the film "Anna's Summer" with German dubbing....) comes from the Evvangelion of Matthew chapter 9, verse 35. But, the whole rest? Please, help finally. Thank you.
  2. Not a review, just a couple of questions to this rarely album edited 1971 to the music of Stavros Koujoumtzis. More known of this may be "To proto peristeri". The whole is connected, like "Hymnoi angelon" later, with Passion and Easter, but in more individual and less traditional way than Hymnoi. And the language is a modern one, but difficult to understand in every detail. Here are my questions, like I sent them already to Astron (thanks for your reply !!!): 1. any details about Ilioskopio you know apart from the date of the recording? 2. Any more leptomeries about Emilia Koujoumtzi, apart from a fact she is Stavros' wife and a special voice with extremely sad repertoire ( e.g. "To leoforio" from the album "Ta megala tragoudia")? 3. What connections has Stavros Koujoumtzis to the church music? It seems he was very influenced by it, the two cycles (Hymnoi angelon, too) must not have been a coincidence only. Was he ever a church musician? 4. Do we have a translations of "Na stamatiso ton kairo" (nr 7) and "Aytos, poy tha thanerothei" (nr 7) at all here? Especially this another one is bit difficult to interpret "surely". 5. I miss horribly ANY informations about Koujoumtzis, and especially about his new songs. I have only this "Ta megala tragoudia" still with holes in my understanding of the introduction. 6. Has anyone read Koujoumtizs' book "Anoixta parafira" (Open windows) to review it here? Thanks in advance!!!! Olga

Many fragments are to be found on the Youtube fortunately, not only with Giorgos Dalaras himself, but with Xaris Alexiou, Anastasia Moutsatsou (my favourites), Mariza Koch and another ones. 16. Listening to many of live recordings and after five concerts of Kyrios Giorgos I could attend, I miss always the same possibilities. Not only the "backstage" meetings (I wanted this time so much to ask about Giannis Fertis and Giannis Kalatzis - any info appreciated) , but 1. the second fragment of "Pou einai ta xronia", "St'arxontiko sou...." 2. the whole, but the whole "Mi mou thimoneis, matia mou" 3. the spoken introduction to "Ti na thimitho, ti na ksexaso". An important part of this very short song gets lost - and, althought Giannis Fertis gave with his voice an unique value to this text, should this get lost for ever in the concerts because of his absence? Missing these three parts I feel always disappointed, as if they were unfinished fairy-tails. Understandable, if a song is present in your life already some 40 years, it is a long time and thousands of performances. But this means, possibly not for me alone, "a luck of repetition" of an old personal and/or family ritual. This is why I would like soooo much to hear this "Mi mou thimoneis" live in its original, chamber version, and not the orchestral one, used after the Israeli Philharmonic' concerts. These fat orchestral additions in the interludes make me irritated. Just because this is the most important work of the whole Greek music for all of us in my family. And so already more than 30 years. Nevertheless, thanks to a phone connection, both my mother and my father could hear this "Pou einai ta xronia" kai this "Mi mou thimoneis". The first one was, since I remember my own life, always a favourite of myself, a long time before I could understand the text. And the second one is always of my father, despite of the passed time, always with these rare moments of tenderness in his voice. Euxaristoume.

  22. ... or have I just really overlooked something???? What do you think? Is it so seldom available or forgotten or disliked? What I hardly could believe. Who could please give some informations to the texts itself? The recording is from 1982, when was written the text? Heavy to understand for me in too many fragments, I must say. Well, after I have heard to this recording in a careful way, I hope to have more constructive questions than those above.
