  1. Ntalaras has worked with many other singers in his career. With which singer (that he has never worked with in the past) would you like to see Ntalaras together on the stage in the future?
  2. Thanks Martha! The site is very informative. My next step will be to buy one of his cd's!
  3. Ok, now I learned too that Santana is a great musician! But what style of music is he playing? Is he a singer or a composer?
  4. IF YOU LOOK AT THE PHOTOS OF THE SITE, AND GO TO THE FOTOS WITH NTALARAS AND OTHERS FOREIGN MUSICIANS, DOESN ANYBODY KNOW WHO ARE THE MUSICIANS IN THE PHOTO NUMBER 6?
  5. Thank you Anna! I don't know any of them, apart from sting.
  6. In the greek version. The one where Ntalaras sings with a group of people in a live concert.
  7. Who is Carlo Santana Franz?
  8. Francois opinion about Ntalaras and Xatzidakis is understandable in a way, but personally I dont agree. In my opinion, maybe the greatest advantage of Ntalaras as a singer is that he can sing a rembetiko and a rock song with the same success. He has this unique skill to change his style of singing according to the image of each song. Francois, maybe you are influenced because Ntalaras doesnt sing Hatzidakis that much. Because if you say that Ntalaras voice doesnt fit to Hatzidakis songs, then you mean that Ntalaras voice doesnt fit to baland songs, and this is wrong. And as Geeske mentioned, "San palio cinema" is an amazing example.
  9. Christo, I have listended to "Η ΜΠΑΛΑΝΤΑ ΤΩΝ ΑΙΣΘΗΣΕΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΤΩΝ ΠΑΡΑΙΣΘΗΣΕΩΝ" by Vasilis Lekkas. I agree with you, it doesnt sound good at all to me. Actually it is not extreme to say that because Ntalaras is so great, whoever tries to sing his songs wont sound very good. If the person is another great singer ( like Farantouri, Mouschouri, Alexiou etc) I personally say "thats very good" but I always prefer the Ntalaras version. There is no explanation for that, I think Ntalaras gives life to the songs.
  10. One of the great advantages of George Ntalaras as a singer,is that he has performed a big variety of different types of musik. He can perform one rempetiko with the same success as one rock baland, a latin or classical musik. I think this risk that he takes by trying new things in his work, makes him unique between other singers. In which new type of musik would you like to see Ntalaras performing in a possible new cd? (Think of a kind of musik that Ntalaras has never performed before in his career and you believe that he could perform it in a succesfull way)
  11. Christo, which singers try to sing Dalaras material? Are they famous?
  12. What I know Geeske is that when Sting came in Athens to give a concert this summer, Ntalaras came on stage (as surprise) and they sang live together the "I am mad about you".
  13. How could I know that they sang together? Only if I was there! But I wasnt. What is missing though, is a cd of their concerts.
  14. I am looking for a song called (i think) Asprh nyxta. It was the first song of Ntalaras programme in Iera Odos either the second year (with Marios Fragoulis) or the third year (with Goran Bregovic). I dont know who is the composer but I can give you an idea of the lyrics of the refrain: Thelo mia nychta san ki afti na se gnoriso me kosmo, filous, syntrofia kai mousikeeeeeeees Thats what I remember, I know also the melody but I cant type it!!! So does anybody know anything about that song, and does it exist in any cd or video?
  15. At this period I am listening very often to a recent cd of Alkinoos Ioannidis ( live concert). I find the songs great and his voice unique and I wish once to see him on stage with Ntalaras! Another singer that I am listening to this period, is Yannis Kotsiras. Again his songs are great, very simple and very original,( i am not sure if he writes the songs) and again I wish to see Ntalaras and Kotsiras taking their guitars (as simple as that) and start singing together.
  16. Eida stis selides tou site to programma tis synavlias tou Ntalara sthn Patra. 17. Ok, sas efcharisto kai tous dyo!
  18. It is a great song. I didnt know it was written by Ntalaras himself. Hopefully it will be included in one of his future cd's.
  19. What you heard Geeske is their cd called 'I agelasti politia'. It is one of my favourites and it is about a christmas children story.
  20. It can also be that the person is a bighead, as in the case of the musician!!! Xexe!!
  21. Nikki, from what you said I dont think it is worth talking abouth that musician. He cant be serious! The fans of Ntalaras in Europe and America is the result of so many concerts that Ntalaras gave all over the world, becoming the one and only representative of Greek music abroad. I totally agree that ignorance is one main reason. For example some people argue that if Ntalaras says that he gives some concerts without taking any money, this is not true. But how can anybody know if and how much money Ntalaras took and whats the point to know? He certainly has not any financial problems and he is certainly not the richest man in the world. I get upset when some people criticise Ntalaras in that way, while they are listening to Remos, Rokos, Sfakianakis, Alkeos, singers that have no idea about musik and they only care how to make their cd's profitable. Ntalaras is a musician and the criticism should be about his musik and nothing else. Soc, I have the same question with you. Maybe I am influenced because people of my age dont like Ntalaras (I cant explain why). But I think it is a fact that you see more people who have a bad comment about Ntalaras than those who have a good comment. And what is disapointing is that usually the bad comment does not relate with Ntalaras music but with the person's imagination!
  22. Well, my story is not that long!!!! I first listened to Ntalaras in 1992-93 when I was 12 and that was live! I saw an advertisement on Tv about a concert in Irodio theatre about Cyprus with Marios Tokkas and George Ntalaras. I found it interesting and I told my older sister to go to the concert. I was totally impressed by Ntalaras, his voice and the songs. By the way none of my parents listen to this kind of musik. They are both fans of classical musik. After the concert I started to look for more and more information about Ntalaras. My sister gave me my first cassete of Ntalaras as a christmas present which included Na tane to 21, Oi eleftheroi ki oreoi, itan 5 itan 6, exo ena kafene, ax xelidoni mou, mi mou thymoneis matia mou,h skonh, o metoikos, etc. Then I bought 'Kalos tous', which was his new lp at that time and now I am a great fun of Ntalaras having most of Ntalaras cd's in my collection. One issue I want to mention is that I find it EXTREMELY difficult to find people who listen to Ntalaras. It is more common to find people who hate Ntalaras(being unable to explain why they hate him) especially in Greece. So, a question which could also be a new topic is: WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PEOPLE WHO DISLIKE NTALARAS??? (This is another issue that proves how important Nikolas's site is.)
  23. After Dalaras, I like Alexiou, Chatzis, Katsimicha, Bryan Adams, Papakonstantinou.
