and many more beautiful songs set to music by Theodorakis and other composers.

Who can tell me more about him or direct me to some source of information ?

Hello Annemarie,

maybe that Francois' information is already sufficient for you (I do not know what he wrote as I do not speak French  ). But anyway here is a link to the results of the search engine "Google" when you type the name of the author (in greek letters). I did not visit these websites but I think that at some of them you will find useful information about Livaditis:

http://www.google.com/search?as_q=&num=10&...ch=&safe=images

Personally, I like his song-lyrics too (beside the titles you already mentioned, another very good song is "Savvatovrado" [also with music by Theodorakis]). But I was very much surprised when I read a book (short-story) by Livaditis (I think its title is "To ekkremes"). Completely different topic and style compared with his lyrics for songs: A surrealistic (I would say) story with refrigerators that kill people etc. (something like that). By far too crazy for my taste. I prefer his quite realistic lyrics. (But I must admit that I know only this book with prose. Maybe others are different.)

 Thank you Michael !

There is a biography and a very interesting website on poetry.

I must admit that I had performed a search with Google before asking on the forum ....with very poor results ........because I had omitted to use Greek characters...

Annette, I agree there are some wonderful songs for which Λειβαδίτης has written the lyrics. Some of my favourites are from Φυσάει sung by Βασίλης Παπακωνσταντίνου. (An excellent recommendation from a very knowledgeable young man in the Ixogram CD shop at 25 Evripidou Street in Athens.)
