Sodade Evora/arvanitaki

10 posts in this topic

The title of the song I would like to have in mp3 file is "Sodade" and not the Portuguese "Saudade", my apologies.

I heard it on the radio, around the 10th of September, on a channel (don't remember which) advertising N.Portokaloglou's concert on Lykabettus with the participation of Arvanitaki.

The song is on the cd : The very Best of Cesaria Evora , label BMG Heritage, 2002. There is no mention of Arvanitaki.

Greekbooks.gr has an album called "The Best of Evora Cesaria, Arvanitaki Elefteria", label BMG 1999.....but the titles are not listed and this album is not mentionned on the BMG website; nor on C.Evora website.... :xmas:

hope someone can help

I

I'm glad you finally have the song. In fact, Sodade is a creole word for saudade and it comes from the portuguese. As you know Cape Verde was a portuguese colony.

Enjoy the song, it's so beautiful.

As we have no extra "Fado" topic yet :) ,

today, 11,.01., by "ARTE" - TV-Programme (available mostly in France and Germany), 19.00: MIsias Fado.

A part of her concert from the du Chatelet Theatre in Paris.
