I interpret it as guide my heart No, it's more simple: "Come and with the heart [= your heart / our hearts] as pilot let us find an unknown shore ...[etc.]" E.g.: Our hearts may lead us to an unknown shore [etc.] Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Posted November 21, 2003 · Report post And two more remarks: τ άστρα θα τρεμοσβήνουνε // the stars will blinkκι όλα χορός να γίνουνε θα λες // and everything will become a dance, you say I think it is more correct to say: "and everything shall (may?) become a dance, you will say" (Obviously the singer predicts what will be the desire of the other person when they will be there.) Και βραζιλιάνο με κάνει βέρο // and a Brazilian one, a genuine one αυτό το μάμπο απ τη Μπραζίλ // that mambo from Brazil No, it's different. The meaning is: "That mambo from Brasil makes me (= the singer) a genuine Brazilian." Posted November 21, 2003 · Report post Finally: Θ αρχίσουν οι μαράκες ** ρυθμό να δίνουνε // the marakes will start giving rythm On a greek website(http://www.esoterica.gr/articles/religion/vodun/vodun.htm) I found these music instruments written as "μαράγκες" (and that's like I hear the word too in the song): "... Αρχικά γίνεται μια μεγάλη φιέστα πριν από την τελετή αυτή καθεαυτή. [...] Παράλληλα οι tambou ops ξεκινούν την τυμπανοκρουσία και o La Place παίζει μαράγκες. Όταν ο σχεδιασμός του Veve ολοκληρωθεί τότε αρχίζουν οι ψαλμοί και οι houngans ,οι mambo ,οι hounsis και οι πιστοί αρχίζουν να χορεύουν (πολλές φορές οι πιστοί μένουν απλοί θεατές στο χωρό). ..." It seems that with this expression are meant instruments that are called in original "Maracas", something you hold and shake in your hands in order to give the rhythm.
