Είν' η καρδιά μικρό καράβι

που η αγάπη κυβερνά

So, what does it matter, what the mind believes?

This week's favorite song:

(and my favorite part)

ένα φίλο και μι' αγάπη είχα μια φορά

τώρα βρέχει κάποιος τρέχει, δεν μπορώ να δω

το ρολόι σταμάτησε 'δώ

soc... I have sung this song to myself at least twice a day this past week (being far from home and without music).

Now...

My song for yesterday is Μην την πιστεύεις την αγαπη

My song for today is not a Dalaras song but Alexiou's Φεύγω.

My song for tomorrow is Ξενος για σενα.

For me, favourite song this week is:

An uparchei logos...

because I am going back to work tomorrow. And there is one reason - only one - to go back. So I can finally read what you all have written in Greek.

My favorite song this week has to be "Νυχτερινό ΙΙ" from the album "Εμείς οι Έλληνες".

Nikolas please,

do something

I'd rather be called ANYTHING than master.

Beggar, barbarian, junkie, shrimp-stoned-addict, even expert (though I am not)... but not master...

My favourite song just now is the one whose title I don't know! which I'd never heard before! and which he sang last night...

last night

magical night

How can we help in defining this song?

p.s: Geeske, if the club says you are a master, there is too little I can do for it...!

However,

if she wants to get out of this title, an incentive would be good. Like 1000 posts or something. Then she can go to a higher level.

ooops. somebody will kick my ass now for being out of topic.

No honestly, soc, suppose we start calling professor, eh?

And, Nikola, since you changed Micki's title to addict, surely you can change mine to beggar; when I get access to a scanner, I promise to post a photo that will prove how well I deserve it!

As for the incentive, well, I just tried out the members list and sorted by post number and now my face is crimson, I mean really really purple... but soc is next, so he's no right to talk of incentives

Those who were at the concert did name the song for me, but I forgot (the price of not knowing Greek). Something about δρομοι, and I think they said it was by Theodorakis (but my head was reeling so I'm not too sure).

Now I go off and write some stories.

Geeske, Dromoi Palioi is one of my favourite songs! (if not my favourite)

Omorfh polh is also very good

Can you remember any of the lyrics of that song?

It was not Όμορφη πόλη, a lovely song that I am very fond of.

I think Δρόμοι Παλιοί must be it.

I'll have a go at looking up the lyrics, and maybe some expert who was at the concert can confirm.

For this week, I'll have to choose "'Erimos mes tin erimia" ('Ερημος μες την ερημιά). Ι just feel so lonely... :wow:

SPQR,

I cannot read the Greek on my computer, so I cannot read the song you put in.

I can read it at my work but there I'm not allowed.

Keep on writing, it might help to see things clearly and stay in the club !

For me it's one more time, Theos an einai. I'm getting lost here in Belgium.

Let me walk on thin ice again (haven't drowned yet).

This one I heard Glikeria sing with Giannis Miliokas :

"Kapou tha sinantithoume"

Aeriko

I can't say why it is so beautiful.

I'll just say what it does to me.

It causes me to stand stockstill and turned to stone in the middle of the room, while all my hair (a very large quantity, that is) is trying to stand up on end on my head.

Δημοσθένους λέξις

Dimosthenous lexis, that is.

It gave me quite a shock (see post in the translation forum).

Saturday

Θεος αν ειναι (theos an einai)

for blasting me to heaven twice in a day

in two different voices (Alexiou on record, Dalaras in person)

Sunday

Anna and the Dervish

Today

του Χαρου (tou Xarou)

at last, at last, at last - the words coming clear.
