can the sentence "Στα χρόνια της υπομονής" been transated to "in the years of patient"?!

and does those years return to a special period?!(Historically or something?!)

"the years of patience" would be correct too.

"Ypomoni" means patience, but usually in the sense of enduring something, of putting up with a situation that is difficult, painful, etc.

Did Eleftheriou have specific years in mind? I have no objective information, but here are some possibilities...

Considering the song was released in '75, the "years which had to be endured" might be the years of the junta, when, in fact, the Greeks did have some reason to feel that nobody gave a damm. It's only the last verse which turns it into a love song, of sorts, but that could be camouflage.

On the other hand, the song could also apply to a love story gone wrong, for example because the young man emigrated and the girl waited for him for years, and in the end they broke up and the waiting was in vain.

And so on - use your imagination...

I think, the word "ipomoni" is not only "patience", but more "endurance".(and you mentioned that, too)
