Να ρωτήσω κάτι που δεν το έχω ξεκαθαρίσει ακόμα, αν και είναι κάπως γελοίο;;; Το ρωτάω γιατί θέλω να δω ποιός είναι ο κυρίως υπεύθυνος για αυτή την έκδοση.. Στο cd λέει και ΜINOΣ-ΕΜΙ και Parlophone..! Τι ρόλο παίζει η καθεμία;;;

Και κάτι ακόμα: σήμερα ξανάπέρασα απο τα Metropolis (Θεσσαλονίκης) - στο βάθος του καταστήματος είδα το stand το οποίο πρόκειται να φιλοξενήσει όλες τις εκδόσεις της Μεσογείου (cd, cd+dvd, dvd). (Κάτι αντίστοιχο είχε γίνει και με τα Remasters). Ήταν όμως τυλιγμένο με νάυλον, οπότε θα περιμένουμε λίγο ακόμα και για το dvd...

Το Σάββατο το μεσημέρι που βρέθηκα στο Metropolis της Αθήνας, υπήρχε μόνο η έκδοση cd + dvd και φυσικά το audio cd, αλλά όχι το dvd που αναμένουμε. Σε σχετική ερώτησή μου μα απάντησαν πως δεν είχαν ενημέρωση για το πότε θα το έχουν.

Παιδιά έχετε δίκιο για το DVD. Πέρα απ' το ότι ο ήχος δεν είναι 5.1, είναι και κακός ήχος.

Σε πολλά σημεία μπουκώνει και τρίζει, κι αυτό φυσικά δεν έχει να κάνει με τα ηχεία (το τέσταρα σε διάφορα ηχοσυστήματα, από laptop μέχρι τηλεόραση).

Έχει να κάνει με την ηχοληψία και τον τρόπο που περάσανε τον ήχο στο δισκάκι.

Αντιπροσωπευτικό παράδειγμα απ' όσο θυμάμαι είναι το Is Oria mou που μπουκώνει πάρα πολύ.

Σχετικά με το DVD της έκδοσης CD+DVD τα είπατε όλα, το DVD είναι απαράδεκτο, αλλού το στόμα κι αλλού η φωνή! Όπως ακριβώς ειπώθηκε σα να βλέπεις βουβό κινηματογράφο και να ακούς, παράλληλα, το CD! Τέτοια αίσθηση... Κρίμα, δεν αξίζει κάτι τέτοιο ο Νταλάρας...

Βέβαια από συλλεκτικής άποψης, το οποιοδήποτε οπτικό υλικό είναι καλοδεχούμενο, αλλά δεν είναι συμπεριφορά αυτή μιας εταιρείας προς το αγοραστικό κοινό. Ας ελπίσουμε να το καταλάβουν κάποια στιγμή...

Και μια ερώτηση, επειδή "έχει φοβηθεί το μάτι μου'" , το CD της απλής έκδοσης, είναι το ίδιο με αυτό της έκδοσης CD DVD ; Ή μήπως υπάρχουν διαφορές;

I tried to get the new cd here. Greekcity is selling it for over 25.00USD, if I remember correctly. If I can't get it elsewhere, I will buy it there. Unfortunately, the only store here that I was able to find any of Dalaras' songs is Barnes and Noble. They do not carry the cds, but will order them if I request it.

I'm looking forward to getting it. The last cd I got, at Metropolis when I was in Greece was "In the Songs That I Write for You". Sad, but lovely music.

Εγώ απο τη μεριά μου θέλω να τονίσω , όπως το έκαναν και άλλοι πριν απο μένα, την σοβαρότατη αεθύνη που φέρει ΚΑΙ ο Νταλάρας για αυτές τις παραγωγές. Δνε είναι δυνατόν να είσαι εραστής της τελειότητας, να κάνεις ατελείωτες πρόβες για τις συναυλίες σου λέγοντας ότι τα κάνεις γιατί σέβεσαι το κοινό σου, και τα προϊόντα απο τις συναυλίες σου να είναι απαράδεκτης ποιότητας. Δε γίνεται αγαπημένε Γιώργο Νταλάρα τα dvd απο τις συναυλίες σου να είναι τόσο προχειροφτιαγμένα. Oυσιαστικά έτσι ακυρώνεις τον εαυτό σου και τη γνωστή τελειομανία σου. Πού είναι η τελειομανία σου στην παραγωγή αυτού του dvd? Δεν ξέρω αν συμφωνείτε μαζί μου αλλα πιστεύω πως όπως παρακολουθεί απο κοντά το mastering των τραγουδιών του, έτσι πρέπει να κάνει και για τα dvd των συναυλιών του. Τουλάχιστον ας τα ριχνει μια ματιά σαν τελικό αποτέλεσμα με σκοπό να τα εγκρίνει ή να τα απορίψει. Δεν μπορώ να πιστέψω πως αν ο Γιώργος είχε δεί αυτό το dvd θα επέτρεπε στην εταιρία να το κυκλοφορήσει....

Do you think some one from Minos is reading our comments at this forum?

Do you really think Anna or Giorgos Dalaras are reading what we write here?

The only chance to change a bit for the future and to show what we learned from our master :write a letter to Minos AND to Giorgos Dalaras and complain. Tell them exactly whats wrong and what they should do in future things.

Only if they get hundreds of these letter, there will be a reaction (maybe)!!

and dont forget to add an already addressed envelope with stamp for their answer.

Το πιστεύω οτι το cd Μεσόγειος έχει αρκετές πωλήσεις , αλλά κρατάω πάντα επιφυλάξεις για τα συγκεκριμένα charts

τα οποία συνήθως δημοσιεύονται για λόγους marketing.....

Εξάλλου δεν μπορούμε να συγκρίνουμε ένα τέτοιο cd με τραγούδια της Madonna ή της Παπαρίζου....Ο σκοπός μπορεί να είναι

εμπορικός αλλά προτιμώ να κρίνω τα cd με βάση την ουσία τους..

Πάντως, αν πράγματι είναι πρώτο το cd, θεωρώ ότι είναι αρκετά μεγάλη επιτυχία, αν και δεν είναι αυτός ο σκοπός... Αν σκεφτεί κανείς ότι η 'Μεσόγειος΄ είναι το μόνο μη-εμπορικό cd του chart, είναι επιτυχία...

As you perhaps know it, I am a new member of the community and I need your help :

as they are in Greek, what are exactly the complainings about the DVD ? Is it the Mesogios one ?

Indeed, I would like to order it soon, with the Mesogeios CD and a lot of other CD's, on the musical.gr store (which I disvored thanks to you and where there is so a big choice of Dalaras songs), and I would like to know your opinion.

About the CD, everyone (including me) is very happy, except (of course) it's too short. As always...

I haven't got the DVD yet, but I haven't seen one single positive message about it in this forum, and that is a thing which has never happened before. The complaints are:

the sound quality is not good enough (it hasn't got the latest Dolby)

there is nothing at all in the way of menus, navigation aids, etc.

the picture quality is not good enough

it's out of synch (=they put the remastered sound of the CD on the live pictures, so that at many points the lips movement does not match the sound)

the choice of songs is ridiculous, the long version showing the same songs twice in different versions (one from 2004, one from 2005).

There is also a complaint that the montage show too many irrelevant views (of the orchestra, the Irodeio, etc.), but I'm not sure how objective that is, since most people in here would vote for 1 camera, stuck onto Dalaras, and not too much else.

All in all, it seems that we have some DVD's made from illegal hand-held camera's that have better quality than this expensive so-called professional job. When I get through translating Dalaras' recent radio interview (from Melodia) you'll read what he has to say about the disastrous state the record industry is in, and their incompetence.

If your budget is limited, you may want to leave out this DVD, at least for the moment. For example, if you have to choose between this DVD and the only other official Dalaras DVD (the 2003 "Mikra Asia" concert, also from the Irodeio), I'd say take Mikra Asia, if only because no CD is available from it.

I think I will follow your advice and only by the CD for the moment.

Concerning the DVD Mikra Asia (Dalaras and Glykeria) I have already bought it 3 monthes ago and I like it very much. It was on this DVD that I saw for the first time his wonderful smile !

To see him happy makes me happy too !

Yes,that's what I meant.This release is worth buying,unlike the recent release of the Mesogeios concerts which are of very bad quality.

Well, my opinion:

To be disappointed or not, thats always a question of what you expect

Me, I was already very disappointed when I read within the first announcement the track list of the CD, the songs they choosed for this Mesogios.

Maybe because I expected something special, something which would give at least an impression of these wonderful nights at Irodion in 2004! These magnificant nights with Giorgos and his friends playing and singing together the music of the mediteranean. For me it was like a family on stage. This understanding, although so different countries, the same passion for beautiful songs, the complete union in different but also similar music, this τι ναι αυτό που μας ενώνει

I miss this beautiful atmosphere, maybe its just because they cut too much. And the absolute extraordinary performance of Giorgos, who did, to my opinion, the concert of his life, well I only find within some pieces. Im sure no one to whom I spoke with so much enthusiasm about these 2 nights and will listen to the Mesogios will understand why I was so overwhelmed!

I think (I hope!) they had their reasons why they did only one CD and why they put these songs and in this order on to the CD (to be honest -geia sou Christo- me too, I dont need the Dulce Pontes entries on it).

Anyway, I wasnt the one to decide and -without regard to my personal preferences and wishes- the CD is really beautiful and well made!!

As the difference of the price of the CD and the box with CD and DVD isnt that much, I bought the box. Ok, from all the posting at this forum I knew already about all the complaints (which Geeske translated in to English) and I have to agree. I dont list again all the defects. And as I dont have a dolby surround HIFI TV system, but just a DVD player at my computer, I can bear it. But it is a lousy work. I cant believe that Giorgos doesnt have a look at the final product!?! I thought its so important for him to give good quality to us, the audience, the listeners!?! I really dont understand at all

Anyway, Im very glad I have the DVD. There are parts (f.e. at the intro of Is Oria-Mu when Giorgos starts to play guitar and looks soooo to Filippos Tsemberoulis) And even if they are only a few and very short, this already makes it worth the extra costs of 4 Euro!

And last but not least, when they sell a DVD from a concert which I attended, I buy it, as I have to find myself within the audience :lol:

I think I should explain a bit what I mean, as otherwise no one of those who dont have the DVD will understand what Im writing about.

At this part I see how much Giorgos enjoys the music, how much he is touched by the melody. Looks like he gets shivers while the instruments start with the tune of Is Oria-Mu.

I really enjoy these moments when the camera looks around on stage. I like to see how they all work, but at the same time really enjoy what they do. And once again I realize Giorgos is not just playing together with the musicians. Hes directing, organizing, seems to listen to all the instruments and so nice to see when he gets the extras some instruments are doing, f.e. Giorgos Matsikas with his bouzouki at the end of Is Oria-Mu, etc. etc. as there are more moments like this ...
