Posted March 14, 2006 · Report post I really really didn't have time for this, but when I opened Internet this morning the 'stixoi' site threw it at me for my fortune cookie and I couldn't resist. It's against my principles to speculate on this kind of thing, but I really think the lyrics started from "κατεβαίνεις στη στάση Καμάρα - σε κινούμενη άμμο πατάς" and the rest of the song came from there. Kamara is in Thessaloniki, it's (what's left off) the triumphal arch of the emperor Galerius, at the east end of Egnatia, just before the fountain that's where the city gate used to be, and beyond is the university. If you make a date to mee someone in town in Thessaloniki, 10 to 1 it's going to be there, at Kamara. It's a very, very busy bus stop. Come to think of it, last time I got off the bus there I was carrying on my shoulder an Ikea bookcase for someone's record collection...........
