Posted August 1, 2006 · Report post «Συμμετέχει...» is part of the "Mousiko kouti", the 10-cd special box released by Minos in 1997. It's a collection of (some of the) songs that Dalaras has sung on records by other people, a varied collection (to say the least). Originally the song appeared on the record of Vassilis Paiteris «Πυρκαγιά με πυρκαγιά» (Λύρα 1993). Paiteris is a gypsy singer and songwriter. Another of his songs that you know is "Δυο-δυο" (on Dalaras' "Attikon" record). He's got quite a voice, as you can hear in this song, and his songs are good (those I've heard, at least). Translating is tricky because half of it is the language of the Roma gypsies, and I don't know anyone who can help with those.
Posted August 1, 2006 · Report post Hi Geeske Heart thanks! as always you are so prompt and accurate. Was it a Dalaras-Paiteris duet on the '93 "pirkagia me pirkagia"? Is it possible to get translation of the Ntalaras part of the song? it could well be a translation in itself. Again thanks Alona
Posted August 1, 2006 · Report post As far as I know, the version we have in the "Mousiko kouti" is identical with the one on Paiteris' record. I'll see what I can do about translating, but I've swamped in work so I won't promise at the moment - if necessary, you'll remind me later, will you?
