Posted October 6, 2006 · Report post Dear Eva I am very pleased to report that I shall be going to the Hydra Rebetiko Conference - this is my fourth conference now and I find myself drawn back there year after year. The programme this year promises yet more interesting subjects and people. I have not been disappointed yet. I am particularly pleased that Kyriakos Gouventas (who plays violin with Estoudiantina) will be organising the musicians for the Saturday night concert. Kyriakos has been attending the conference for many years, and it is always a pleasure to listen to him. Perhaps you should try it one year? You would not be the only representative from Scandinavia! People travel to Hydra from all over the world, although it remains a relatively small, intimate affair, and is all the better for it, I think.

Posted October 9, 2006 · Report post Thank you Anna for directing Natalie to the previous posts. Natalie - you will find all the information you need there, I think. This year the programme runs from Thursday 12 October to Monday 16 October, but it is very changeable - sometimes even day by day! It is not free - a registration fee is payable for the conference and concert, but the website - http://www.geocities.com/HydraGathering/ - has full details. Perhaps we will see you there one day?
