Lie, tonight you said the big lie and you know that I expected from you your word to have a signature (to be valid) A lie like Bardaris created angers, run now to stop the sorrows and the grieves. A lie, and from the stars we reached the bottoms and as I came in the night I will get lost. Lie, tonight you said the big lie and count on me no longer. This is a decision, not a threat. Lie, tonight you said the big lie, for you its a shame in your eyes for me its the final shot. A lie like Bardaris created angers, run now to stop the sorrows and the grieves. A lie, and from the stars we reached the bottoms and as I came in the night I will get lost.
Posted January 9, 2002 · Report post Niki, your thoughts, my thoughts... I did this song too, just now, during the Christmas holidays. I'll post it for comparison. I can not listen to it anymore since I know what it says. Lie Music: Christos Nikolopoulos Lyrics: Filippos Grapsas The lie, tonight you told the big lie You speak of the years, and they were all unrecognizable the things we went through together The lie, tonight you told the big lie and you know what I expected from you your word to be a binding signature A lie raised the anger like the stormwind now I have rushed off so you can slow down the pains and misery a lie and from the the stars we fall into the abyss and as I came with the night, thus I will disappear The lie, tonight you told the big lie so that you have no responsibility to me any more that is a decision and not a threat The lie, tonight you told the big lie for you, it is one ashamed glance, for me, [it is] the death blow A lie raised the anger like the stormwind... Posted January 11, 2002 · Report post I don't. Like my translation. Imagine. You start working on this "nice song". Slowly, bit by bit, the meaning emerges, and it's exactly, exactly what someone has been saying to you. Exactly what you have been accused of. In practically the same words! And you start to wonder, all over again, if maybe the accusations are true. "You give me that ashamed look, but to me it's death"; "all the years together, unrecognizable"; "you told the big lie so you have no responsibility to me anymore"; "I thought your word would bind you"... the man I left told me exactly that. I mean, exactly. The same words. How spooky does it get??? He accused me. I said "not guilty". I left. But can you imagine what it's like, when suddenly the accusation is repeated, in Dalaras' voice? The one I can't ignore. If you had not posted it, I would have buried it and tried to forget it. And quite possibly never played Καλώς τους again. But it doesn't do, hiding. It doesn't work. I'll have to answer, somehow, somewhere. I'll have to face up. Niki. Thank you for your help!
Posted January 11, 2002 · Report post To lighten up a bit: I've been translating all the songs on Καλώς τους - only two to go: Μεσόγειος and 'Εβγαλα τα μέσα έξω. Will post them at some point...
