Η πιο γνωστή Ελληνίδα τραγουδίστρια στο Ισραήλ είναι η Γλυκερία, η οποία διαθέτει και παράλληλη δισκογραφία στο Ισραήλ, με τραγούδια που δεν έχουν έρθει ποτέ στην Ελλάδα. Πότε ασχολήθηκε ελληνικό περιοδικό με τις συναυλίες και τους δίσκους τις Γλυκερίας στο Ισραήλ??

Ευχαριστώ για τις θαυμάσιες φωτογραφίες! Η συναυλία στην Καισάρια θα πρέπει να ήταν το κάτι άλλο, είναι και το μέρος μαγικό. Σχετικά με τα σχόλια του Αποστόλη, η σιωπή των ελληνικών media σχετικά με την αγάπη των Ισραηλινών για την ελληνική μουσική είναι όντως αξιοπερίεργη. Όχι μόνο η Γλυκερία, αλλά δεκάδες Έλληνες καλλιτέχνες εμφανίζονται κάθε χρόνο σε κέντρα και σε συναυλίες στο Ισραήλ, ήδη από την δεκαετία του 60, που ο ’ρις Σαν έκανε μεγάλη καριέρα στο Ισραήλ. Ένας φίλος μου, που ο (Έλληνας ορθόδοξος) πατέρας του είχε ένα ελληνικό κέντρο στη Haifa, μου έγραψε πως ο Λουκάς Νταράλας τραγούδησε σ' αυτό το κέντρο. Μαλίστα είχε μαζί του τον Γιώργο, που ήταν τότε έφηβος. Ξέρει κανένας από σας τίποτα σχετικά με αυτό;

Πάντως η Γλυκερία έχει ηχογραφήσει μερικά πολύ ωραία τραγούδια στα εβραϊκά, με καλή προφορά όπως μπορώ να κρίνω εγώ. Τα τραγούδια που διαλέγει είναι από διάφορα είδη ισραηλινής μουσικής, ίσως με κάποια προτίμηση στο είδος που λένε "ανατολίτικη" μουσική στο Ισραήλ. Ένα παράδειγμα είναι το Shabechi Yerushalayim του Avihu Medina, ο οποίος είναι ένας από τους πιο γνωστούς συνθέτες στο Ισραήλ:

Ο Γ. Νταλάρας για τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα

Ξεπέρασαν κάθε προηγούμενο οι συναυλίες που έδωσε ο Γιώργος Νταλάρας στο Ισραήλ. Γεγονός ιδιαίτερης και βαρύνουσας σημασίας, καθώς οι εμφανίσεις αυτές πραγματοποιήθηκαν για τους Γιατρούς για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα (Physicians for Human Rights-Israel) -γιατρούς Ισραηλινούς, Παλαιστίνιους και Αραβες. Μία μη κυβερνητική οργάνωση, η οποία περιθάλπει παιδιά από τα κατεχόμενα και πρόσφυγες που έχουν ανάγκη φροντίδας ανεξάρτητα από το πού προέρχονται. Θέατρα ασφυκτικά γεμάτα, 9.000 άτομα κοινό και μία σπάνια εικόνα. Το από κοινού χειροκρότημα Ισραηλινών και Αράβων σε μία συναυλία, την οποία ο προοδευτικός τύπος ονόμασε «Μία μαγική βραδιά με μεγάλο συμβολισμό».

Ο Γιώργος Νταλάρας πρόσφερε μία ξεχωριστή παράσταση, έχοντας μαζί του και δεκατέσσερις εξαιρετικούς μουσικούς, τη Μελίνα Ασλανίδου και τη Δέσποινα Ολυμπίου. Επιπρόσθετα, στην πρεμιέρα είχε καλεσμένη την, αραβικής καταγωγής, Mira Anwar Auad, ενώ στη δεύτερη και τρίτη συναυλία, στο Mann Auditorium και Caesaria Amphitheater αντιστοίχως, τη Γλυκερία.

Την Τρίτη 25/9, στο κενό των συναυλιών, ο αγαπημένος ερμηνευτής συναντήθηκε με τον Ισραηλινό πρόεδρο Shimon Perez. Τη συνάντηση παρακολούθησε ο διεθνής και ισραηλινός τύπος καθώς και η ισραηλινή τηλεόραση. Κατά τη διάρκεια αυτής ο πρόεδρος του Ισραήλ εξέφρασε τα συγχαρητήρια και την ευγνωμοσύνη του για αυτήν την προσπάθεια.

Music is the medicine

Eight years after he decided to boycott Israel due to the occupation, Greek singer George Dalaras is back. It's his fifth visit, one week this time, including performances in Tel Aviv and Caesarea. Dalaras, 58, began his musical career in Greece at the age of 16 and has released around 130 albums (12 million copies sold worldwide). His first concert of three is tonight at Tel Aviv's Mann Auditorium.

On Sunday he visited the south Tel Aviv open clinic of Doctors for Human Rights (PHR) and tried to clarify that he had never spoken out against Israel. He said that "in a place like Israel, where so much pain has been caused to both sides, it's impossible to appear solely to provide enjoyment. "In a place where families disintegrate and youths are killed, it would have been strange if I would have come and let people dance and enjoy without addressing the general atmosphere."

Last year, the United Nations high commissioner for refugees appointed Dalaras, whose mother was a refugee, as a goodwill ambassador. He meets with refugees and raises funds to assist in humanitarian matters. Dalaras says his earnings from one of his three concerts here will go to PHR, which has around 1,500 volunteers in Israel, about half of them physicians.

His wife, Anna, is also an active worker for the UN and joined him for the visit to the Tel Aviv clinic. They came about an hour later than scheduled and some 20 refugees and migrant laborers from Sudan, Congo, Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea were waiting to share their trials of living in Israel as residents with no legal status.

The clinic's volunteers were also excited by the Greek singer's visit. "Government representatives don't listen to us," said one of them. Dalaras met briefly with Dr. Ilan Gal of PHR, who helped initiate the concerts here. Gal noted that PHR volunteers began by offering assistance to Palestinians but had to expand their operations due to growing human rights-related cases of distress in Israel. "We are looking for allies and believe that medicine and music are universal languages," he said. Dalaras responded: "And music is the medicine."

Later, Dalaras said he tried to arrange a concert in Ramallah, but there were conflicts with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. He was also unable to meet with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

At the clinic the singer spoke in generalities - calling for "cooperation and agreement" and saying "we are children of the same God" - conveyed with the help of a local translator while his wife engaged in animated discussion with refugees. Dalaras listened while she exchanged e-mail addresses with Johannes, a refugee from Ethiopia who described the difficulties of surviving and the shortage of basic needs, food, medicine and social welfare assistance. Later Johannes told Dalaras that "songs don't solve problems, they only help to raise awareness."

Anna told an immigrant from Liberia: "We are doing our best to increase awareness and raise funds, but you should receive help through the formation of an orderly system, and not through philanthropy, because you are human beings."

Dalaras and his wife are to meet with President Shimon Peres and to discuss the peace process and human rights issues in Israel.

For the first time in eight years, the Greek singer George Dalaras will perform in Israel. He was brought here by Physicians for Human Rights, out of his identification with the organization's ideology.

Dalaras will contribute the proceeds from one of his performances to the organization and its Palestinian partners.

Dalaras and Dr. Filk will meet with President Shimon Peres to discuss promoting the peace process, establishing coexistence between Israel and its neighbors, protecting human rights in the region, and finding an appropriate humanitarian solution according to international law for the refugees coming to Israel lately.

Dalaras's visit to Israel will last four days, during which he will give three performances.

On Sunday, Dalaras visited Physicians for Human Rights' open clinic and the Museum of the Jewish Diaspora.

Dalaras, one of Greece's leading singers, also serves as an honorary ambassador for refugee affairs on behalf of the UN.

Συναυλίες του Γιώργου Νταλάρα σε κοινό Ισραηλινών και Αράβων

Τρεις συναυλίες του Γιώργου Νταλάρα στο Ισραήλ παρακολούθησε ένα σπάνιο κοινό, καθώς αποτελείτο από Ισραηλινούς και ’ραβες. Ο δημοφιλής καλλιτέχνης βρέθηκε στο Ισραήλ με την ιδιότητα του Πρέσβη Καλής Θέλησης της Ύπατης Αρμοστείας του ΟΗΕ για τους Πρόσφυγες. Το κοινό χειροκρότημα συνολικά 9.000 Ισραηλινών και Αράβων που παρακολούθησαν τις τρεις συναυλίες, ήταν μια σπάνια εικόνα με μεγάλο συμβολισμό, όπως χαρακτηριστικά ανέφεραν οι εφημερίδες του Ισραήλ.
