Posted July 31, 2011 · Report post This is for those who, like me, don't have an encyclopaedic knowledge of Greek music, listen to radio stations that don't tell you what they're playing (or also like me maybe can't understand it even when they do) and have been a bit behind with new technology. Song recognition programmes have been around for ages, so I'm told, but I've only just caught up with them, and they're brilliant. They just 'listen' to a song for around 10 seconds, search a database for 2 or 3 seconds more, then give you the song title, artist, CD and other clever things that I haven't tried yet. The best seem to be Midomi for computers and SoundHound and Shazam for iPhones and Androids. They're really easy to download and if you don't mind the advertising come free or very cheap. Shazam seems to be better with Greek music - today it identified about 80-90% of songs from a variety of stations. Great stuff.
