Poems about Dalaras or Greek musical topics

30 posts in this topic

I have been trying to write a nice poetical sentence about the voice of Dalaras, but it is very difficult!

Has anyone here ever tried to do so?

Francois :D

yes... I've tried... either I am struck dumb, or it runs to three pages or so, full of exclamation marks  :D

His voice does ...things... to my soul and there are not really any words to talk about that.

Interesting topic. I write a lot of poems (most of them end up in the trashcan) but never I started one for Dalaras or about Dalaras. It is in his songs, so I rather post a favourite song every day, or week.

"struck dumb" too ...But what a lovely idea!

As I said before, Francois, why don't you give us a sample? Just to give a little heart to all the shy poets among our members.

Micky, are you sure, absolutely sure that you couldn't save one from the trash can ? :D  :D

Yes, Annemarie, there are some poems that I kept.

When I read them again, especially the ones from my teenager time, I just start to laugh.

I wrote a few poems about Sotiria Bellou, Nana Mouskouri and Oum Kalthoum (the Egyptian diva). I have been thinking about one dealing with the voice of Dalaras. It is not ready yet. I usually think about it when I am on the bus or on the train to school. Funny places to create poems in ...

It is a very serious subject anyway. But it may take time to write a poem, even a very short one.

well, since there are no words for it, I suppose poetry is the only way to talk about it - as it's the language where words mean more than they mean...

But I never was able to write poetry. Too talkative, I suppose.

As I wrote on February 6th, as soon as I can... :)  But all of you may have a try...

I must admit I couldn't devote much time to poetry these weeks...

Αν δεν έχεις λογιά δικά σου, μπορείς να τα δανειστείς;

...

Marian, I will attempt to help you...

the sound of your voice is kept in my mind

the days of September that rise in my dreams

shaping and coloring my words and my phrases

whatever subject I select, whatever idea I express...

(excuse me, excuse me mr Kavafis) *

I think we need the whole poem to understand more  :)

A little poem which I dedicate to Niki, Astron and Apostolis (inspired by their photo with GD)...

Νot a poem, but a powerful association again:

this music - these voices - so strong like the Niki from Samothraki in the Louvre of Paris. And before I saw her - so tall, so winged, so high (330 cm) on her καραβι - I had completely wrong imagination of her. I knew of course the photos, but they showed only the figure herself.

The  very strong moving upwards - perhaps is this the best description of her meaning for me now -  and  EXACTLY the same  effect - I can describe it now well -  is mostly during listening  AND UNDERSTANDING of our beloved songs.

"και ανοιξα φτερα...", and I opened my wings.

Olga
