Songs that are on the LP

I was about to burn a copy of τα τραγούδια μου this morning, to carry about with my discman.

Then I remembered that the double LP had some songs that got left out of the CD. So I went and checked (against a print from the old site, alas, I don't have the LP!)

The missing ones are:

Στην αλάνα

Πρώτη Δεκέμβρη

Ο τραγουδιστής.

What I would like to do is burn an overfilled cd, adding the missing tracks.

I have the last track, because the same recording was used in Hristaki's favourite, Live Recordings.

But not the others - or not in the "live at Orfeas" version.

Can someone help me with an mp3? Please?

These are all the songs in Dalaras's diskografy that are not included in CD versions (but they are included in LP versions). I don't have these songs either!

I checked my albums and I saw that some of the songs ,you listed,are included in the following Dalaras albums :

-Ta Hromata Tou Hronou I & II

-The Very Best of George Dalaras

-Nahame Ti Nahame

-O Tragoudistis

-Live Recordings

And something else just to inform the members  ...

The audio cassette versions of Latin and Sinavlia (each two cassettes) are same with the LPs so they also include the missing songs of their CD versions...

The removal of songs when going from LP to CD is very strange. Usually it's the other way around. The people responsible have been shot, yes?

The victims are usually double LP's.

Either leave out one or more song, and make it a single CD (cheaper, easier to sell)

Or leave them all in and make it a double CD.

MarianS, after I teach my computer to listen to my record-player and remember what it hears as mp3's, we'll talk again!!

Or we may find the songs spread on four or five different CDs (this is very Greek, you know...) as I have noticed for Rebetika LPs or Bithikotsis, or even Mouschouri...

  I've asked the same questions before since the club started

hoping that MINOS-EMI would correct this problem

 or that Dalaras would release a special CD on the tracks that never made it to disk yet from LP and Cassette Tape.

 But alas, the request hasn't been fulfilled yet.

 And basically,

 the reason why they were not burned the first time around on a CD is that the CD's were only capable of only holding 76 MB of Ram.

 Now of couse they have come out with CD-R's of holding upto  80 MB

 which is approxiametely 75-80 minutes of music.

  And when they try to burn a Double LP onto a CD

 it may not take the whole thing has we have seen,

 for a Double LP usually could fill a 90 Minute Cassette Tape without a problem.

 So, unfortunately some good songs have to be left out, but which ones and why?  

 Who decides which are not to be recorded on CD?

 Geeske makes a good point, and that is to release those songs left out and burn them on a single release.

 Can anyone write to MINOS-EMI and submit our request?

P.S. Worse yet is that we have so many Best Hits from MINOS-EMI on Dalaras greatist hits and none of them featured the missing tracks that never made it to CD.

Yes, we could always try write to them, but I think that, unfortunately, MINOS-EMI is not a company that could easily satisfy such a request. I have heard many unpleasant things about them, and I fear that some of them are well-founded. But anyway, let's try. Who is going to write the letter? We could all sign it... I can't really do it myself (write the letter I mean), as I have a lot of work to do for the time being.

Of course, everyone of us will have to sign it, but how? Perhaps by creating a special e-mail address for it e.g. dalaras_cd_missing_songs@*******.gr or something, so that we could be more convincing, and put all our names at the end of the letter...

I guess they will need to see a Poll of Censors all for the same needs.

And at the same token what we don't need is another

  Best Hits with the same songs already on

 other previous Best Hits recordings.

   Lets get the songs that are hard to find and that were never made.

 BTW, why does the song 'Hlie Mou Se Parakalo'

   begin way in the background to the point you have to turn up the volume to Max just so you can hear it clearly.

 The music doesn't come to life until halfway through the recording which by then you have to turn it down or it will be too loud.

Has anywone else notice this too????????

Christo, I have always wondered about the same! At first I thought it was my disc only, but now I know it is general.
