Posted August 5, 2003 · Report post Usually I cannot (or I do not like to?) qualify a certain song as "Song of the week" etc. but about an hour ago I listened after quite a long time again to a (wonderful) record with Kostas Smokovitis ("Ola gia sena", from 1990). And I think I can say that this is my "record of the week", especially because of the song "Ligoi me mathan n' agapo" with music by Thanasis Polykandriotis and lyrics by Christoforos Balabanidis (and a phantastic solo introduction with the bouzouki played by the composer). I must say with regret, that today no one is able or (willing) to write and to sing such marvelous masterpieces.
Posted August 8, 2003 · Report post A week of only one song for me: Marinella, "Tha'thela na isoun san eikona agia", taken from the link in the topic "Pente xronia" in the Forum (don't remember exactly, if this was "upload files"). A perfect melody, an outstanding voice, a very good text.

Posted August 23, 2003 · Report post Two songs at the same time, and not only for the week, but, as I see, longer. Never heard played once, always with repetiotions: - Plessas/Papadopoulos: Proti fora - To mellon, from the Millennium Concert. I do not know even at the moment, who wrote this last one (who could help, please?), but the more I listen to this song, the more I appreciate it's melody - text - performance. Thank you, Nikolas. Thank you, Marijke. Thank you, Renoula.
