This week's favorite song (too)

1,665 posts in this topic

The whole two weeks with the urgent and big work and I do not even hide the "Megala Tragoudia" in any drawer.

For the new week to begin:

"Ta xrei tis kardias sou".

Stavros Koujoumtzis, who else. Keeps me alive these weeks (even if this means "only" a good condition in the short pauses I have now.)

Music - text - voice. What a perfect unity.

And the next song in this album is "Dipsasa stin porta sou", Anna Vissi singing. The same.

Do we have at all some parts here concerning Giannis Spanos and Kaiti Xomata? I do not think so!

High time to complete it, paidia....

Arrrgh! Due to the international "Speaking-like-a-pirate-day", I would like to put forward Joni Mitchell's "The pirate of penance" from Songs for a seagul. Hoist the flag, mates!

Αυτό το κάτι which Ελένη Βιτάλη sang for me in the car at least 4 times in a row (more than 4 actually, but I lost count).

And ZAVARAKATRANEMIA

whatever that may mean, does anyone know?

it has currently got itself stuck on repeat in the computer

What do you mean, I can't have two songs in a day? Come on, I got up at 4 AM, surely that's long enough for two songs.......

Since yesterday:

Φθινόπωρο κι αρχίζουν οι βροχές...

The song is 'Dylan Thomas', from Trelloi kai Angelloi.

I was wondering the other day, listening to Mikres Politeies: how come that Kougioumtzis songs seem to be either extremly well known, or extremely unknown? No middle way.

I have it in the CD album "Giannis Spanos, 36 megales eptixeies", edited by Lyra (Nr 0738; www.lyra.gr) 2002 and it was definitely the song of the last week.

Well, after the visiting of the karavi on Zakynthos it is even understandable.

And, Francois, "stin Ellada den kanei krio", 23 degrees water, we have surely less here in the air. :)

One of the many good things about this topic is: it makes me think 'oh yes, it's been too long since I heard that song...' and go and put on the record.

On my mind these days is 'los bilbilicos' , a sefardic song from Thessaloniki sung by Savina Giannatou, which is the-same-but-not-the-same song as 'ta prota logia' (which is lyrics by Gatsos with a tune borrowed by Kougioumtzis from an old Hebrew prayer).
