Posted July 21, 2002 · Report post With great, great, GREAT thanks to Maria de Los Angeles, who wrote out the lyrics for us... a whole night, and ten of us searching the World Wide Web, and not finding them! So she came and saved us. Then I couldn't resist temptation and tried to translate them. Now I promise you, I don't know any spanish at all, but I happen to own a Spanish dictionnary, and when you're good enough with dictionaries, in writing, you can pretend, quite convincingly... Anyway. Maria said this translation is OK, and believe me, if she had not, I would never ever have posted it. P.S. 23 April 2006: thanks to Kapetanios and Maria, the translation is being updated now, the "missing line" is solved Amor Amor_____||_____ Love, love Μουσική: Arnaud Taieb_____||_____ Music: Arnaud Taieb Στίχοι :Arnaud Taieb_____||_____ Lyrics: Arnaud Taieb Amor,_____||_____ Love ya no corre sangre por mis venas_____||_____ no blood runs in my veins anymore amor,_____||_____ Love las cosas de la vida nos separaron_____||_____ the facts of life keep us apart amor,_____||_____ Love eres el sol que alumbra mi memoria,_____||_____ you are the sun that lights up my memory eres mia,_____||_____ you are mine me siento solito, abandonado del mundo._____||_____ I feel all alone, abandoned by [all] the world Te necesito, yo te quiero,_____||_____ I need you, I love you mi vida sin ti es un desierto,_____||_____ my life without you is a desert amor, amor, amor._____||_____ love, love, love Amor, tu eres la estrella de mi cielo_____||_____ Love, you are the star of my heaven amor,_____||_____ Love quiero amarte con todo mi sentimiento,_____||_____ I want to love with all my feeling si, todo,_____||_____ yes, all amor,_____||_____ love de terciopelo son tus caricias, tus caricias,_____||_____ of velvet are your caresses, your caresses, vente conmigo_____||_____ Come with me te doy el amor que yo tengo muy dentro._____||_____ I give you the love I have inside me Te necesito, yo te quiero,_____||_____ I need you, I love you mi vida sin ti es un desierto_____||_____ my life without you is a desert amor, amor, amor._____||_____ love, love, love Amor eterno a mi lado,_____||_____ Love, eternal, by my side amor, contigo, contigo..._____||_____ love, with you, with you amor, te doy mi amor._____||_____ love, I give you my love Te necesito, yo te quiero,_____||_____ I need you, I love you mi vida sin ti es un desierto, amor!_____||_____ my life without you is a desert, love! Posted July 21, 2002 · Report post te entrego * | I entreat you * (Maria didn't quite catch what the word is, that he sings in that line - we'll find out someday!). Spanish is not Greek, I already got a dictionary from a friend! Geeske, I think you ( and Maria ) did it very well! Well, for the rest, I think we have to ask Dalaras himself! Posted July 21, 2002 · Report post Good, Geeske: you are like ANDRE GIDE who translated Shakespeare's Hamlet with no real knowledge of English...
Posted July 21, 2002 · Report post Bravo Geeske ! Maria will have more time to spend on the forum A small suggestion for line 15 : quiero amarte con todo mi sentimiento/I _want_ to love _you_ with all my feelings Quite interesting those languages in which the same word can mean 'wanting' and 'loving'
Posted July 21, 2002 · Report post Motion adopted with thanks! "To want " is a treacherous verb, as well. It can mean "to desire" or "to need" or even "to seek" - and any combination of those... A translation into Greek is in progress, btw, but may take a good long time to complete
Posted July 24, 2002 · Report post As this topic relates to this GREAT Spanish song I will add my reply here even though it really belongs in this weeks favorite listening number. I just got the new cd a week ago and I still can't stop listening to it It really is so good. But the best song on here by far has got to be without a doubt (at least my favorite on there) AMOR AMOR and give me more and more of that., WOWW all's I can say Remember how I once said before that Dalaras voice is so well controlled and beautifully mastered with his technique in making his voice sound so soft and yet so subtle and then suddenly without expecting, it comes to full massive life and he can project his powerful vocal chords in what seems like beyond a shattering glass? Well this song folks is that example much like 'Una Moneda Lei' but even better!!!. Its that perfect example of his "honey-lemon' style coming to life. and when it Erupts its there its there, its there, boy is it ever there.... I still get goosebumps when he sings the refrain, the way he bellows out the chorus line. Dang, I feel like I'm riding that long hurlde roller coaster again turing me uspide down and twisting me all over from the left to the right. Man , What a song!!!!!! and then he songs softly again . AMOR AMOR yes I do love it indeed. Fantastic control of his beautiful golden voice and his wonderful skill technique, I don't care if anyone disagrees with this song or the way he sings it. It's a masterpiece just by itself. And Dalaras should sing these types of songs on EVERY live concert of his.

Dalaras needs this challenge at a live concert! And you should see his face after finishing the song 'Amor....Amor'! Really satisfied, as he gives all he has! And he loves the 'Spanish' music soooo much!!
Posted July 25, 2002 · Report post Anna........you are right. I saw his face in Berlin after finishing Amor-Amor. I think he likes this song as much we do!!! Franz
Posted July 25, 2002 · Report post Berlin... Once more, I regret he did not sing "our" fado, "our" Coimbra, Franz... I have to spend more time with "Amor" till I like it so, like the most of songs Kyrios Giorgos sings. Sorry to be a bit far from the title given above.
