AMOR AMOR

With great, great, GREAT thanks to Maria de Los Angeles, who wrote out the lyrics for us... a whole night, and ten of us searching the World Wide Web, and not finding them! So she came and saved us.

Then I couldn't resist temptation and tried to translate them. Now I promise you, I don't know any spanish at all, but I happen to own a Spanish dictionnary, and when you're good enough with dictionaries, in writing, you can pretend, quite convincingly...

Anyway. Maria said this translation is OK, and believe me, if she had not, I would never ever have posted it.

P.S. 23 April 2006: thanks to Kapetanios and Maria, the translation is being updated now, the "missing line" is solved :)

te entrego * | I entreat you

* (Maria didn't quite catch what the word is, that he sings in that line - we'll find out someday!).

Spanish is not Greek, I already got a dictionary from a friend!

Geeske, I think you ( and Maria ) did it very well!

Well, for the rest, I think we have to ask Dalaras himself!

Good, Geeske: you are like ANDRE GIDE who translated Shakespeare's Hamlet with no real knowledge of English...

Bravo Geeske !

Maria will have more time to spend on the forum :):wow:

A small suggestion for line 15 :

quiero amarte con todo mi sentimiento/I _want_ to love _you_ with all my feelings

Quite interesting those languages in which the same word can mean 'wanting' and 'loving' :wow:

Motion adopted with thanks!

"To want " is a treacherous verb, as well. It can mean "to desire" or "to need" or even "to seek" - and any combination of those...

A translation into Greek is in progress, btw, but may take a good long time to complete :)

As this topic relates to this GREAT Spanish song

I will add my reply here even though it really belongs

in this weeks favorite listening number.

I just got the new cd a week ago

and I still can't stop listening to it

It really is so good.

But the best song on here by far has got to be without a doubt

(at least my favorite on there) AMOR AMOR

and give me more and more of that.,

WOWW

all's I can say

:pity::D:music:B):music::rolleyes::razz::D

Remember how I once said before that Dalaras voice is so well controlled and beautifully mastered with his technique in making his voice sound so soft and yet so subtle and then suddenly without expecting, it comes to full massive life and he can project his powerful vocal chords in what seems like beyond a shattering glass?

Well this song folks is that example

much like 'Una Moneda Lei' but even better!!!.

Its that perfect example of his "honey-lemon' style coming to life.

and when it Erupts its there

its there, its there, boy is it ever there....

I still get goosebumps when he sings the refrain, the way he bellows out the chorus line. Dang, I feel like I'm riding that long hurlde roller coaster again turing me uspide down and twisting me all over from the left to the right.

Man , What a song!!!!!!

and then he songs softly again .

AMOR AMOR

yes I do love it indeed.

Fantastic control of his beautiful golden voice and his wonderful skill technique,

I don't care if anyone disagrees with this song or the way he sings it.

It's a masterpiece just by itself.

And Dalaras should sing these types of songs on EVERY live concert of his.

Christo, he does!!!!!

Dalaras needs this challenge at a live concert! And you should see his face after finishing the song 'Amor....Amor'! Really satisfied, as he gives all he has! And he loves the 'Spanish' music soooo much!!

Berlin... Once more, I regret he did not sing "our" fado, "our" Coimbra, Franz... I have to spend more time with "Amor" till I like it so, like the most of songs Kyrios Giorgos sings. Sorry to be a bit far from the title given above.
