You are right about the dance.

The photo's of us all together were taken from the back. Lousy photographer there. But I didn't know Anna yet, I would surely have adviced her to do the job.

Micki, if you dance in Greece and I'll get the ticket for free, no problem to do the photos!!!!

And the best would be if it's occasionally at a Dalaras' concert!!

It's a deal, Anna. I will still have to figure out a free ticket for you and a Dalaras concert would be perfect of course.

I'm reviving this topic because I would like someone to tell me about Το όγδοο θαύμα, (to ogdoo thauma, from Apona Matia) which I've privately re-named "the Fred Astaire song" - it sounds greatly like tap-dancing to me (please excuse me if this is sacrilege).

Any comments? Christo, please?

p.s.

I like the song very much, btw.

:):pity:

can't help it, any mention of coconuts means Monty Python to me (the Holy Grail, remember?).

But I still want to know if it really is a Fred Astaire rythm

:D

well Geske Moy

I haven't forgotten you

and as I had a chance to play that cd today

I can inform you now as to what it is.

The song you asked about 'Το όγδοο θαύμα'

from the CD "Apona Matia

is a fast 2/4 rhythm and is categorized as

a Xasaposerviko.

However, the way the tempo and beat is played from the percussion

tracks, the drummer gives it a jazz flair to it.

So in reality the rhythms of the Jazz tempo

is very similar to that of the Hasapiko Dance

except that the rhthyms of jazz are more of an upbeat tempo.

as opposed to the straight 2/4 count of the Hasapiko & Hasaposerviko dance.

:)

Now can I be so kind and ask as to when my friends here will accommodate their request for me that they have posted from long ago and kept me hanging in a long overdue period of time?????

:D
