On the 26th of October Goran Bregovic will perform and on the 27th Dalaras will perform, as far as I understand is the last a rumour and the first confirmed. Posted September 24, 2001 · Report post The official festival site http://www/crossingborders.nl is a highly irritating animated thingie that takes ages to load, BUT it announces, as a FACT, that Goran Bregovic and his Wedding And Funeral Band will appear on Friday the 26th of October AND Giorgos Dalaras and band will appear on Saturday the 27th of October The festival programme is from 2000 (Friday) or 1900 (Saturday) till midnight, and there is also a special day programme - I haven't looked up what. It does NOT say where they will play, a large number of Amsterdam theatres will be in use. I still can't believe it. Just two weeks after Frankfurt. Am I going to die of overdose in Amsterdam after all :) ? But I have a Problem: I try to buy tickets for the Crossing Border Festival, but there is obviously no possibility to do this neither from Germany via Internet (with creditcard) nor via telephone. How I unterstand it, you need an adress in the Netherland and you have to pick up the tickets personal in one of the ticket offices in the Netherlands! Have you try it too? Is there another way? Posted September 26, 2001 · Report post Maria: the Crossing Borders site lists two ticketing agencies that ought to work via Internet; if they don't work for you, for whatever reason, do mail me (geeske@tomaatnet.nl) and we'll work something out (kannst auf Deutsch mailen, ist einfacher fuer dich oder?). Micki, Soc, yes, I think a Dalaras overdose is definitely possible. Isn't it possible to die of joy? Considering the number of drug deaths in Amsterdam, it would be a nice change to die there of pure extasy (sorry for the pun there). Socrati, of course we're high - stoned as shrimps, as we say in Holland! Don't we need some, in this awful world?? To die of joy. You know the feeling: when that voice, that incredible man's incredible voice, gets to you so, hits you right inside you, and your heart swells up in your chest until you can't bear it and it's going to explode or... well one day maybe it does and you die. Posted September 27, 2001 · Report post To all members Allright I received confirmation that Dalaras will perform on the 27th of October in Amsterdam. According to the organisation it is not yey known where he will play. The concert will be for one hour and then they change program. You have to be very early because full is full in amsterdam and you cannot book for a show. Day tickets are Nlg 60,-- for one day. You can order them by calling 0900-0191 which is the uitbureau in amsterdam (ticket office) and you can pay them with creditcard. If anyone has problems with booking let me know. Posted October 1, 2001 · Report post THE FESTIVAL IS NOT SOLD OUT (I bought a ticket five minutes ago, so...) What the festival site says, is that it has been sold out last year and has therefore a larger number of locations this year, to accomodate more visitors. Afterwards it amazed me that the announcement of a festival started with a story what happened LAST year, That it was Sold Out that last year. I would never start an announcement of a NEW event by telling what went wrong in a previous, at least not start with it. Posted October 16, 2001 · Report post Henk, You are the local specialist, At that location, Stadsschouwburg, there is another performance prior to that of Dalaras. Is one supposed to get in allready at 20:00 hrs and stay in when there is a Pause at 21:00? (Dalaras starts at 21:30) It is a bit tricky, If you stay outside untill 21:00, it might be definite. You have to be early because afterwards a famous writer will speak about his new book.
